One Year Later

It's been one year since my famous trip to New York. Recovery has come slowly but surely. I've learned to slow things down a little and take things a step at a time - literally. I saw on the news that Rockefeller Center opened the ice rink for the season. I do still have a soft spot for NYC.

Teaching is going well. I have all of 7th and 8th grade for science. This is the first year that has happened. Up until now there was another teacher who taught one class of science - now it's all up to me. :)

My family is still growing. My oldest niece just turned 8 and is getting ready for her baptism. Both sets of twin nephews are walking/running non stop. Other nephews are talking up a storm and I'm the proud aunt getting to watch it all.

Yeah for fall. No more 100 degrees. (I hope)

One week left. :(

Today is the last Monday of Summer Vacation. Where did it go? It was a pretty quiet summer. I had a few weekends in Tucson with Mom and Dad. But that's as far as my traveling adventures went.

I guess the biggest news of the summer was that I was released from being Primary pianist after 5 years. I'm starting to enjoy Relief Society again. It's been a challenge, but that's what life is full of.

Goodbye Summer 2010.

Welcome Summer!!!!

Summer vacation has officially begun. I am currently in Tucson enjoying some peace and quiet for a little while. I'm going to be doing online tutoring and a science class online. Other than that, I'm going to take it easy and get some things in order before August begins again.

All of you who aren't in the desert of Arizona, enjoy your summers without the 100+ degrees.

4 weeks to go!!!!

The countdown has officially begun. 4 more weeks until summer break. Lots to do before then, but it will be nice when it comes.

I didn't get the mircrogrant, but did get things in place for me, another MS science teacher, and 9 students to go to Biosphere. I hope they will enjoy it as much as I did. (Or at least, think it's kinda cool).

Summer plans - basically getting my condo in order. Major cleaning (going through clothes and stuff to donate to DI), and still working on my leg. I am walking fine. I just would like to see it a little more stronger. So I took the plunge and joined a gym. Hopefully working on my leg will have some side effects (losing some weight wouldn't hurt). :)

That's it for now. I guess I am ready for summer to come. Even with the 100+ degrees.

Spring Break

I survived 3rd quarter of teaching. Coming back to the full work force has been interesting. I didn't think I would be ready for a week break, but I am. :)

A few of my students asked me if I would be going on a trip this time. The answer is a big N-O. Not only do I have certain family members that will freak out if I am on an airplane to travel "for fun", I have a condo that desperately needs cleaning. So I have picked a room a day to focus on. I am going to try my best to get as much done as I can.

I guess that's all for now. Resting up for 4th quarter and Science Fair!! Yeah!!

Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho!!!

I am back to work. I have survived almost a full week back and my stamina is slowly coming back. On Monday, I tried to walk to the cafeteria for lunch - not a good choice on my part. I was completely exhausted that evening. So for the rest of the week, I've been bringing my lunch.

It is also so nice to be back home. I'm glad to be back in my familiar surroundings. I really missed Indy and he's been glued to my side ever since I came back. Tyler and Kamry also came over and helped clean up 3 months of dust and fur that accumulated. (THANKS SO MUCH!!) It's also nice getting back into my regular routine. Other teachers were talking about how hard it was coming back from a 2 week vacation. I could only shrug and sheepishly smile. How do I say, "Yeah, it's hard for me too, coming back from being out of work since October?"

More updates later. It's 8:30. Time for bed. My body needs it's beauty, muscle building, bone building sleep.
