I am back to work. I have survived almost a full week back and my stamina is slowly coming back. On Monday, I tried to walk to the cafeteria for lunch - not a good choice on my part. I was completely exhausted that evening. So for the rest of the week, I've been bringing my lunch.
It is also so nice to be back home. I'm glad to be back in my familiar surroundings. I really missed Indy and he's been glued to my side ever since I came back. Tyler and Kamry also came over and helped clean up 3 months of dust and fur that accumulated. (THANKS SO MUCH!!) It's also nice getting back into my regular routine. Other teachers were talking about how hard it was coming back from a 2 week vacation. I could only shrug and sheepishly smile. How do I say, "Yeah, it's hard for me too, coming back from being out of work since October?"
More updates later. It's 8:30. Time for bed. My body needs it's beauty, muscle building, bone building sleep.

Many Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I have so many things to be thankful this year. Many of my blessings have been shown in the past two months.
First and foremost is family and friends. I was surprised by how many phone calls, emails, cards and especially
prayers were sent to me or in my behalf after my accident. It was so comforting to know that I was being thought of. As a single
person, I sometimes forget how many people in my life care about what happens to me. I am very grateful to everyone who even has had the smallest part in helping me recover.
Second I am thankful for my parents. I have come and taken over their master bedroom, put their lives on a schedule around doctor appointments and therapy sessions and they have gladly helped me with whatever I have needed. The selfish part of me has really enjoyed having my parents all to myself. It has been a blessing to be able to spend this time with them as an adult. It's a blessing that I am not sure will come again.
Third I am thankful for the miracle of the human body. I see little signs of improvement everyday. Something as small as being able to tie my shoes is celebrated. Heavenly Father has given us wonderful bodies that heal better than any scientific inventon could match.
Finally (at least for now) I am thankful to Heavenly Father. I am so grateful that Lori and I were where we could receive prompt medical attention. I am thankful for helpful members of the church that stepped in when my family couldn't. I have learned more now how Heavenly Father knows me and my needs perfectly.
Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy November
Things are going well. I think my parents and I are settling into a workable grove of our days here in Tucson. The past few days have been a blur for both Mom and I. I caught a NASTY cold on Friday and by Saturday night Mom was down for the count with it. We don't think it's the flu because we didn't come down with fevers, but it knocked us both flat. Monday, Mom was on one couch and I was on the other and we didn't move far.
I've started physical therapy on my leg. It's going good. Our first mini goal is to get it as straight as it can be. So each time I'm watching TV, my leg is out stretched on the footrest. I've also been doing some bending and lifting exercises. One that's the hardest right now is doing a side leg lift. That's where I am laying down on my left side (good leg) and then I raise my right leg towards the ceiling. It was easier doing it Jane Fonda or something when I was in high school. But I know it will get stronger over time.
My friend Lori is also doing well. I think her kids are stepping up and learning some new chores, like laundry.
That's about it for now. More updates to follow. :)
